It Started with a Choice...
When life handed our founder, Brian Gorsich, a multiple sclerosis diagnosis, he chose to respond with rhythm, hope, and community. He founded Beat the Funk on a simple truth: music brings people together like nothing else can.
Today, we are a 100% volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating real, lasting change across Central Illinois. Through high-energy events rooted in the joy of funk music, we turn challenges into celebrations—and celebrations into community impact.
